In a time crunch!

30 August 2009

Been in a serious time crunch lately- project deadlines, some exams I need to study for, some family commitments..the prefect storm and as a result a time starved yours truly which probably explains why I have not been able to make blog entries as frequently as I would like to :-( Anyway, here are some thoughts as I digest the current events around me.

Health care debates are getting increasingly heated. For the most part I support President Obama’s effort towards reform but I think he may be falling short. What is needed is a thorough overhaul and not a patch work which seems to be what is happening under political compulsions.

Also watched Ted Kennedy’s funeral this weekend , quite a moving tribute/ eulogy by his loved ones and fellow politicians including President Obama. A sad reminder that life is ephemeral and every moment of it should be utilized for a good cause.

The markets seem to be doing nothing much after the powerful rally from March lows. This is quite natural, the markets need to digest their gain before it makes up its mind whether next leg is up or down.

The kids have started to learn Taekwondo and seem to be enjoying it quite a bit ( already on an orange belt)! I am happy for them, other than that this summer they have not been able to do much. I took them along for one of my business trips, else it has been pretty much home bound for them, an uneventful summer :-( Hopefully next summer we will have time for a world tour, a cruise, a camping…

This weekend took the kids and nephews to a Canoeing experience, quite a treat! Both visually and spiritually as you soak in the fresh air, admire the natural beauty and have some shared fun time!!That’s it for now. Need to get the time crunch under control!!
