The Magic of Ordinary Days!
This is a lazy summer Saturday afternoon! Part of me is telling me to go out and have fun with the family, part of me is asking me to take care of some unfinished projects. I hate when I have this conflict and it has been happening quite frequently lately
At the end it is usually the later that wins, though some time I do give in to temptations, particularly when my younger kid gets involved and then there is no running away from weekend family responsibility! Our best pass time is going out visiting friends, relatives, nephews.. or for dinner(usually Indian restaurants and we are strict vegetarian, content with naan, paneer curry, navratan korma, pullao etc), occasionally to Taco Bell, Pizza Hut…
Back form our outing, it usually doesn’t stop there, I may also have rented a consensus movie of choice to watch in our home theater. When I rent a movie title, I make sure it is likely to have good surround sound effect wherein I can tap full potential of my Dolby Digital 5.1, 1200 watts Panasonic home theater system on a crystal clear big Plasma screen! Last year it was “War of the Worlds”, “Cars”,”The pirates of the Caribbean” which gave me my money’s worth, this year I have “Ghost Rider”, “Dreamgirls”, “Ant Bully” and so on…
The weekdays also just go by so quickly in the middle of so many things happening right now. Working in the technology area, there is no dearth of challenges which need to be taken care of, having growing up kids means having to take them out for guitar lessons, piano lessons and so on. Once in a while I have to give a helping hand to my wife and need to pick her up back from work. Just plain and simple ordinary days. Still these days have a charm of their own.I know few years down the road, when these settings change, I am going to miss them. To preserve these memories I do take pictures some time, my Nikon D50 comes handy and occasionally I will roll the camcorder as well. Once in a year, I sit down and compile these pictures and home videos and guess what, send them to my mom and dad! The magic continues
