The gadget freak in me….(not my characterization though, comes from close family members), recently bought a Flip Mino HD camcorder. Not that I do not have a HD camcorder, but I still felt like buying this one, had read rave reviews! I must say the product truly met all my expectation. It is very small ( cell phone size), cheap ( at around $250) and non intrusive ( in contrast hauling the full size HD camcorder is a job in itself, the fun of the moment gets lost!)

As much as I love SLR camera and full size HD camcorders, the convenience of point and shoot digital camera and the likes of Flip HD Mino means a very pleasant experience of carrying them around. I already have an iPhone and a Blackberry Storm that I carry most of the time ( one is a business phone the other is a personal phone), who wants to add any additional bulky gadget. This is where these miniature cameras come in handy.

Now the SLRs and the custom lenses and the filters and the image stabilized HD camcorders all have their place, only thing is that I can not carry them in my business trips. Only when I have my whole family, I have enough hands to haul those big gadgets. Yeah sometime feels like I waste a lot of money in these gadgets, but what the heck..convenience triumphs any other consideration , and as long as I can afford them , why not?
